Justice Health NSW
Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (JHFMHN) provides healthcare to people in contact with the NSW criminal justice system — across prisons, mental-health forensic facilities, and community justice services. PretaGov has been Justice Health's CMS partner since 2017.
Background
Justice Health's public website serves clinicians, patients, families, advocates and researchers. The audience is, by definition, one that often faces accessibility barriers: low literacy, cognitive impairment, English as a second or third language, intermittent internet access. Accessibility isn't a compliance line item; it's central to the site's purpose.
Partnership
We've hosted and maintained Justice Health's Plone-based website continuously since 2017, with annual SLA renewals. The platform has been incrementally evolved through multiple Plone versions without a re-platform, with accessibility, branding and content patterns evolving alongside.
Beyond core hosting and maintenance, the partnership has included custom work where Justice Health's specific needs have warranted it. The most substantive of these has been the prison portal — a controlled-access subsite for reaching the prison healthcare population with content that's distinct from the public site (see the dedicated case study).
Why the long run matters
A nine-year continuous partnership with a healthcare provider this complex isn't typical. It's the result of treating Justice Health as a long-term client whose software has to keep working — not a project that ends at go-live. The platform has weathered version upgrades, brand changes, and shifts in the network's clinical services without needing to be re-platformed. That's the pattern we aim for across the practice.
