NSW Crime Commission
Background
The New South Wales Crime Commission is an independent statutory body that investigates organised and serious crime. Its public website serves the press, the legal community, and citizens seeking access to annual reports, public hearings information, and corporate guidance.
In early 2017 the Commission ran an RFQ against the NSW Government ICT Services Scheme to redesign its existing site, migrate to a modern CMS platform, and move hosting externally. PretaGov was selected.
Solution
We delivered a refreshed Plone-based website with editor-friendly publishing, NSW Government brand alignment, and externally hosted infrastructure on PretaGov managed hosting. The Commission's small communications team can publish documents and minor updates via secure remote login without engineering support.
Because the site doesn't include online forms or facilitate electronic transactions with the public, we kept the architecture deliberately simple: read-only public content, secure admin access, no third-party tracking or analytics that could compromise visitor anonymity in a law-enforcement context.
Ongoing partnership
PretaGov has continued as the Commission's hosting and CMS partner since 2017, renewing SLAs annually. The site has been incrementally improved over the years — Plone version upgrades, accessibility improvements, brand refreshes — without ever requiring a re-platform. This is the pattern we aim for: software that earns its place in the long run, not one that needs replacing every three years.
